This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party content, and loads no external fonts or scripts. Nothing on these pages tracks you or reports your visit anywhere.

The web server keeps standard access logs containing IP address, timestamp, requested path, response status and user agent. These are used for operating and securing the server and are retained for a limited period.

If you email us, we hold your message and contact details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to meet our record-keeping obligations. We do not send marketing email and we do not pass contact details to anyone else.

Use of the technical notes

The technical notes on this site are general engineering background. They are not a specification and they are not advice for any particular installation. Material selection, coating specification and cathodic protection design depend on conditions that a short article cannot capture. Do not rely on these pages in place of an assessment of your own case.

Accuracy

Standards are revised. Where a note refers to a standard by number, check the current edition before using it. If you find an error in anything published here, please tell us and we will correct it.
